Cinzia Franchini (PhD) is a Nutritionist and holds a PhD in Food Science at the University of Parma.

Since joining the Human Nutrition Unit, she has participated in several research projects aimed at furthering the study of lifestyle, with a particular focus on eating habits and dietary sustainability. As part of her doctoral project, she conducted studies aimed at identifying best practices for implementing educational strategies to improve nutritional knowledge and promote sustainable diets in academia. During the final year of her PhD, she spent a period of research as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where numerous educational projects are underway to make the campus an environment conducive to promoting the physical, mental and social well-being of students. This experience was an important opportunity for her to grow and find inspiration, both professionally and personally.

She is currently a Research Fellow and is involved in several projects aimed at increasing knowledge and awareness of food sustainability.
