The OPEN-UP (Outgoing Publications, Essays and Networks - University of Parmainterdepartmental call was conceived with the aim of financing the publication, in open access form, of literature reviews or essays in national or international scientific journals, or the publication of monographs, on topcis related to the concept of risk, in its various forms, according to an interdisciplinary and interdepartmental approach.

The concept of risk can in fact be a subject of study and research, both in the human sciences (e.g. modernization processes that produce uncertainty, fear and crisis and, as a result, require innovative interventions from a psychological, sociological, legal and economic point of view) and in the field of hard sciences, which study risk assessment, prevention and management.

With this call, open to all teaching and research staff of the University of Parma, as well as to research fellows and Ph.D. candidates belonging to Departments or Research Centers of the University, CSEIA intended to contribute to the dissemination of the activity of scientific research of the University of Parma on issues of relevance to the Center, reducing the burden on teaching and research staff and favoring high-level publications.

Ten research projects, presented by professors and researchers from different departments of the University, were eventually funded.
