Irene Picicci holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Biotechnology for the Food Chain at the University of Ferrara, and she is currently enrolled in the PhD program in Food Science at the Department of Food and Drug of the University of Parma. Her PhD project is called “Multi-omics approaches for the characterization of toxigenic fungi, in a climate change scenario” and her research is now focusing on semi-targeted and untargeted metabolomics approaches to study mycotoxins and fungal secondary metabolism, mainly on species of Fusarium and Alternaria genera.
