Emanuele Castelli is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Parma, where he teaches Political Science and International Politics. Rector's Delegate for Social Justice (2023-2029), he is the Chair of the Political Science Programme (BA in Political Science and MA in European and International Relations) and Director of the Center for Studies in European and International Affairs (CSEIA). From September 2024 he is the Coordinator of the European Project FOSTER - Jean Monnet Centres of Excellence. He previously was Assistant Professor at the University of Parma (2016-2021), Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Bruno Kessler Foundation of Trento (2012-2016), Adjunct Professor of Public Policy at the Free University of Bolzano/Bozen (2013-2016) and Instructor at the School of International Studies of the University of Trento (2015-2016). From 2007 to 2011 he was Research Fellow in International Relations at the University of Bologna (Forlì campus), where we taught Strategic Studies and International Politics, and Visiting Scholar at the University of California at Irvine (2008). Since 2012 he is in charge of managing the activities of the Italian Standing Group on International Relations (SGRI), and its annual Conference held in Trento. He took part to a number of national and international research projects, funded by the Ministry of Education (PRIN 2005, 2008), by NATO Allied Command Transformation and private bank foundations. He is the author of two books on the Theory of Revolutions, co-author of an edited book on identity-based conflicts (with Filippo Andreatta) and author or co-author of several chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals. His main research interests lie at the intersection between Peace Research and International Relation Theory, with a specific focus on the effects of economic modernization on states' domestic and international behavior. |
